Planning the Fire Deck – 10th March 2016
Since we first started thinking about putting in the Fire Deck I have been planning how to go about it. Recently I have been doing a lot of Maths and calculations to try and make the idea a reality.

We have grand plans for the 5th level of the home ridge. An Octagonal deck with Fire Pit.
Erosion is one of our major issues here at Arborlon. We have come to realise that the mountain is constantly moving, and that movement is downwards. Water erosion, physical erosion, rock falls and plant loss are all part of the erosion picture.
So many of our projects have been aimed at restoring stability through planting, terraforming and construction.
The photo above shows you what the view is like off the main deck.
But it was not always like that.
After clearing, rejuvenating and re-planting some of the terrace gardens in the previous weeks, we continued to work on the other(larger) terrace gardens.
This included adding a ‘pond’ as a water habitat in one of the gardens.
