After clearing and widening the Dragonfuit level with the excavator we needed to plant out the new bank we had created at the eastern end of the level.
The bank was made with excess mountain soil from the excavation.

We finished off the Grevillea garden on the Tank Level today.
It’s a good feeling, to get it finished, to get plants in the ground and see how it will all potentially look.

As part of our ongoing water security measures we had new water tanks installed at the shed-level last year.
5 x 2000 litre modular tanks were installed on the southern side of the shed. One of the only pieces of ‘flat land’ we own.

We built the Solar Box, for the batteries and components of our new Solar System, soon after we got here almost 2 years ago.
The initial build was always temporary as we knew we would be relocating and /or rewiring this system once we got settled.

In lots of photos you may have seen the ‘blue snake’ across the lawn on the plot level. That was the Plot hose connected to the Plot irrigation…
Well we finally got it ‘buried’ and completed.

We had been discussing what to do with ‘Gary’s pad since we completed the Acacia Garden Wall and now it was time to make a decision.
We had thought about more gardens on either side? A path of some sort? A winding path with edge? But we chose to leave the pad as grass for the moment.

The Fire Deck has been finished for a while now, and we are working on the surrounding gardens.
As always these gardens will feature local and non-indigenous native plants and establishing plants that can survive the blistering heat that this area gets in Summer.
Having already completed the Fire Deck South Garden it was time for the North Garden to take shape.

We completed our Fire Deck a few months ago, but still had some final touches to do to finish things off. We are almost there… but after the week we have just had we thought it was time to fire up the fire pit and see how everything works.
So we did 🙂

With the tank level wall almost finished, it is time we started on moving our 27,000 litre poly water tank.
It has been on a 14 degree ‘lean’ since we got here, and we have a nice new level pad to put the tank on. But first we have to free it from the bank it sits against. 20+ years of erosion and weather have locked it in a bed of clay.

When we purchased Arborlon 18 mths or so ago, one of the existing problems we knew about was the footings that supported the SW corner of the house. They were in bad shape and needed repairing/replacing. So much so that there is a 50mm drop in the floor of our lounge room from one side to the other.
Unfortunately we needed to support other elements of the hill the house is built on, before we could get to actually permanently fixing the damaged and broken footings.
