We had collected some Lomandra confertifolia seeds from our local Lomandras and we had had a good result from germinating them in a large tray.
One of the main plants we use in erosion control and creek management is Lomandras – the Australian mat rush. Propagating these form our own seed is our next project.
After Cyclone Debbie(March/Apr 2017) we had various areas of the road side that had been damaged. We undertook to plant many of these areas in order to strengthen them and prevent further washouts.
This was another gully needed some planting to help hold the ground in place.
The Fire Deck has been finished for a while now, and we are working on the surrounding gardens.
As always these gardens will feature local and non-indigenous native plants and establishing plants that can survive the blistering heat that this area gets in Summer.
Having already completed the Fire Deck South Garden it was time for the North Garden to take shape.
