With no rain in sight and not much to do… we are mulching like crazy.
With the easy access to the mulch, we can load up a trailer and be back an unloading it within an hour.
Lots of our road work and berms need either to be re-mulched or have there first mulch treatment. The pics below are of a new mulch berm below “Site 27” on the road. This berm has been in place for a while but we had not reached it yet in our road plantings.
So this was the first treatment – a think layer of mulch.
When rain returns we will plant this berm out and re-mulch it again.
Additionally every tree in the garden has been re-mulched. IT is the only thing keeping out Grevilleas alive at the moment.
With an excess of mulch we could also move on to a new road berm area. This time down below “The Cut” where we have not reinforced the road edge previously.
We hope to have more mulch available soon as roadworks are about to commence on an area further up the mountain. With luck we will have an almost exhaustive supply. 🙂
