Today we built another gabion water habitat. This is now our 8th Water habitat we have across the Property.
Today we built another gabion water habitat. This is now our 8th Water habitat we have across the Property.
This was the first water habitat we created when we got here, almost 2 years ago.
But the growth of trees and shrubs around it has made it harder and harder to see, and therefore harder to see the birds that visit.
As the bottom steps are now finished and the gardens in place was created a new water habitat on the Plot Level.
Another of our water habitats is getting popular with the locals. Birds now regularly visit the water habitat that we have created in the back yard.
It’s a simple one. An upside down plastic garbage bin lid on top of a galvanised garbage bin.
We noticed the small birds in our backyard were searching for water, so we created a birdbath for them simply by turning an old plastic garbage bin lid upside down and placing it on a galvanized bin for support.
After clearing, rejuvenating and re-planting some of the terrace gardens in the previous weeks, we continued to work on the other(larger) terrace gardens.
This included adding a ‘pond’ as a water habitat in one of the gardens.
